Think on These Things

If you are experiencing a time of grief right now, or just find yourself needing comfort for the daily struggles of life, here is what is bringing me hope and peace.

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Lamentations 3:20-26, 32
I well remember [my afflictions],
and my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind
and therefore have hope.
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for Him.”
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him,
to the one who seeks Him;It is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.
Though He brings grief, He will show compassion,
so great is His unfailing love.

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
