Art: (finishing combing Ryan’s hair) There. Now you look like a proper future President.

Ryan: I can’t be the President!

Art: Well, you could be, someday. You can be whatever you want to be, you just have to believe in yourself. (This last part said in Art’s best cheesy announcer voice)

Ryan: Well, I think I should just believe in God.

You know, maybe some of us who are so disturbed by the results of the election should do the exact same thing. My not-quite-six year old is a pretty smart little fellow.

And that’s the ONLY political post you’re going to read in this blog for a very long time.

  2. Ah, the wisdom of a five year old! We could all learn a lesson or two. And I’m glad this is the only political thing you’ll write. I’m tired of politics!

  3. I like to think that it isn’t just hormones, but is that you are more “discerning” and “in touch with your emotions” when you’re pregnant. Enjoy the moment.
