Of Needs Met

Sometimes He sees our needs and meets them immediately, amazingly, miraculously.

Sometimes He sees our needs and meets them slowly, in small ways that bring us to wonder at His plan.

But always, He sees our needs.

Sometimes He sees the same needs we see, and He meets them in the ways we expect.

Sometimes He sees the needs we do not see, and He meets them in unexpected ways.

But always, He sees our needs.

He sees our needs before we know of them.

He says “wait” so that when our need is greatest, He can say “yes.”

He says “wait” so that we are forced to recognize the needs we don’t always see.

And always, always,  He sees our needs.

He sees our bodies, so frail and broken and needy, requiring food and sleep and clothing and shelter.

He sees our hearts, so troubled and worried and desperate and sinful, requiring peace and rest and cleansing.

And these needs, so familiar to Him, He meets.

In His way.

In His time.

Seeing not only the needs of this present moment,

Seeing the needs of a life He desires to draw close to Himself,

He meets those needs most crucial.

And in meeting those needs (sometimes in the smallest and simplest ways),

He teaches us to trust Him for what is temporal and temporary.

He teaches us to never forget–

Always, He sees our needs.
