And now, today, we wait for His return in the darkness of this world, but we have hope, because we know the Light of the World.

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

His own people did not receive Him, but He offers us the opportunity to become His children—simply by believing on Him.

Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

During this Christmas season, we celebrate the Light with gifts and with laughter and fun, and we offer our own gift of praise to the greatest Gift ever.

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

I heard the bells on Christmas day
their old familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet the song repeat
of peace on earth, goodwill to men.

And I thought how, as the day and gone
the belfries of all Christendom
had rolled along the unbroken song
of peace on earth, goodwill to men.

And in despair I bowed my head.
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
of peace on earth, goodwill to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep,
“Good is not dead, nor does He sleep.
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
with peace on earth, goodwill to men.”
