El-Roi

El-Roi

You are the God Who Sees Me–
The God who understands.
My tears are in Your bottle;
My name is on Your hands.

My troubles don’t surprise You,
Nor do my fears alarm;
You’re working all together
For good and not for harm.

When all my hope abandons,
When fears push me to my knees,
I never am forsaken.
You are the God Who Sees.

  1. This is my absolute favorite name of God. It has always seemed to tender to me that God took the time to intervene in Hagar’s life, a woman who very little worth in the eyes of her world and culture. What a blessing to be seen by the God of the universe! 🙂

  2. I LOVE this poem! I sent it to Bec, because she has moments when she really struggles, and at 37 her body tires much sooner. Love, Donna
